Dear Journal,
My mom gave me this journal to entertain myself while my family and I went on our vacation around Ohio. We started by driving to Cleveland. The first thing we did there was book ourselves at our hotel, Embassy Suites (there is a picture of our room below). Once we did, we immediately got in the van and drove away to our first fun thing we'd do in the city: the Cleveland Museum of Art!! I can't wait!!
That's all for now...
~Cassi
Our room at Embassy Suites!! Cool!!
LATER...
Dear Journal,
The museum was soooo amazing!! It had all sorts of cool artwork!! Now, my family and I are on our way to, since Emily and I love nature, a metro park! I can't wait any longer! I see the sign, so that means WE'RE HERE!!!
I'll write more later...

Dear Journal,
Today Emily and I went to the beach next toLake Erie with our parents, which, I think, was the most fun I've had yet in Cleveland. I have added at least 50 shells to my collection! Now I have about 253 shells total. Wow!!!! My mom and Emily are boogie boarding on Lake Erie right now, and my dad and I are just chilling on towels, relaxing. Whoa!! Emily just fell off of her boogie board. It is very entertaining to watch her.
That's all that I think I can write for now...

Dear Journal,
Tomorrow we leave to go to Cincinnati, but we have one last thing to do in Cleveland (the one thing my dad was looking forward to): The Arcade! It's pretty much a building full of games that you can play. I'll tell you what I think of it when I get the chance.
Until then...
~Cassi
LATER...
Dear Journal,
That was SUPER-FUN (That is what I think of it)!! I can't believe how many games I played while I was there!! I'm so glad I had fun on my last day in Cleveland. Tomorrow we leave to go to Cincinnati, like I said earlier. I'm just lounging on my hotel bed, writing, waiting for my mom to get the rental car from the parking lot and pick us up, since it's pouring down rain outside, and we left the umbrella in the car, my mom decided to sacrafice being wet to get us in there before we get too wet. So........................................................................................ there! I heard the beep of our rental car! That must be mom!!
See ya in Cincinnati!!
~Cassi
STILL LATER...
Dear Journal,
We are now in the car, driving to Cincinnati, and I am bored out of my mind. My dad said we're going to travel for 4 hours southwest, and about 240 miles! So there is nothing to do!! Emily is playing with our well-trained hamster, Cocoa, that we brought along, while listening to her Ipod (of couse I forgot my Ipod) and all that I brought was this journal, my DS, my camera, and a drawing pad. (I guess my sister and I kinda both brought Cocoa, but still) And I'm soooooooooo bored!!!!! I wonder what we will do in Cincinnati? I know it has Coco Key Water Resort and a Cincinnati Bengals Stadium, and Coco Key sounds pretty interesting to me. So I hope that we get to do that while we're there. (I probably want to go there because of Cocoa (the hamster)... probably) Let me ask if we're going to go there. Please wait while I ask... please wait... please wait... please wait... please wait... okay, my mom doesn't know what we'll do in Cincinnati, so I guess I'll just have to find out.
This time I really will see you in Cincinnati!!

May 5, 2010
Dear Journal,
Now we're truly in Cincinnati, and first we checked into The Quality hotel , then we drove off to the place, The Music Hall, where I had the time of my life!! We got to listen to awesome music and all sorts of awesome things!! I had a BLAST!!!!! But now, we are in the car, and (I find it interesting that I always write while I'm in the car) we're on our way to The Union Terminal!!!! I'm so excited!!!! So is Emily. I've heard lots of great things about it there! I think this has been a great vacation for the four of us so far! I can't wait!!
Bye for now...

May 6, 2010
Dear Journal,
Yesterday was a busy day, so I didn't get enough time to write. But we didn't do much anyway. So I'm going to just sit on my bed and write about what we will do today. (it's about 7:15 a.m., so no one is up yet, and, as I said before, I'm bored out of my mind) Today, luckly, we are going to do what I hoped: COCO KEY!!! I can't wait to get wet in the water! After we do that, we will go to a Hollywood Casino. I'm not sure what that is, but whatever. Then, we'll go to a tower near our hotel called The Carew Tower. It is over 80 years old!! Geez. We are also going to move to a hotel INSIDE the Carew Tower! I can't wait to see the view from the top floor! My dad is scared of hights, so I hope he is okay with that.
Can't wait for today to start!
~Cassi
May 7, 2010
Dear Journal,
Last night, I expected to wake up in our Quality Hotel room, but I had forgotten I was in the Carew Tower! And as soon a I woke up today, I walked over to the window and imagined what I would do standing on the top floor (where our room was...YAY!!) and if I was holding a harness. I would connect the harness to the bars of the balcony, as I was wearing it, and I would probably definatly jump over the edge. But I'm not holding a harness, so I can't jump. Sad. At least we get to drive to Columbus tommorrow! (Mom decided our "tour" would last less than 10 days, so we crammed everything we would do into yesterday and today, and we'll have to see what else our family has time to do.) I'll write in the car later, as we're driving.
Can't wait!
~Cassi
The Carew Tower from the parking lot!
May 8, 2010
Dear Journal,
As I said in the last entry, I am driving back up through the state of Ohio, to Columbus. It'll take 2 hours and 120 miles to get there. And this time I know we are going to go to an Irish Festival, and a state fair! I think that is sooooo amazing! We also might a metro park, but I'm not quite sure. Yet. Please wait while I ask if we're going to a metro park... please wait... please wait... please wait... please wait... alright, my parents don't know either. I guess we'll find out eventually!
I'll write there...
~Cassi
LATER...
Dear Journal,
I guess since we already went to one, the metro park wasn't as fun as the one in Cleveland. But we all saw was rocks and trees, so that sounds pretty boring, right? Well, it was. Very boring, I mean. We are also going to end up going to the Ohio Statehouse, and the Ohio State Fair today, and the Irish festival and driving all the way up to Akron tommorrow.
Nothing else to write...
~Cassi
May 9, 2010
Dear Journal,
I am on my way back from the Ohio State Fair! I took LOTS of pictures. Here's some of them:
A couple cows made out of BUTTER!!
The view from on top of the Ferris Wheel
I rode on the Ferris Wheel 8 times!! My sister and I both had so much FUN!! Although I went on the Ferris Wheel a lot and Emily went on EVERY roller-coaster (and I can't stand roller-coasters) in the park, we still both had LOOOOOTS of F-U-N fun! When my family gets back to the hotel, we'll pack up our stuff and head up to Akron! Honestly, 3 of my friends live in Akron, so wouldn't it be cool if we might run into them as we're touring a building?! Yup, it would.
We'll have more time to write on the way to Akron...
~Cassi
LATER...
Dear Journal,
Well, we made it to Akron... and it took up exactly 2 hours of our lives to get there and it was about 120 miles (said my dad)... and my family and I just finished touring "Dr. Bob's Home", which would've been as boring as staring at trees and rocks for an hour... IF WE HADN'T RAN INTO OUR FRIENDS THAT LIVE IN AKRON!!!!! SO COOL!!!!! I'M SERIOUS!!!!! It was fun, probably mostly because Emily, our friends and I made up some game that was kinda fun... it's hard to explain what in the world we did. But after we toured "Dr. Bob's Home", our friends had to leave, and we drove on over to the Akron Zoo. (pictures below) That was fun, too.
All I wanted to write for now...
~Cassi
Awesome Penguins... Mom liked these the best
This chimp-like-thing came right up to us!!... Emily liked these.
Dad liked the Alligators best of all.
I liked the Giraffes.
May 10, 2010
Dear Journal,
Oh, yeah! I forgot to mention our hotel! It's called Holiday Inn. And once we leave it, we'll be heading toward... I'm NOT kidding... ACHOCOLATE FACTORY!!!!!!!!!!I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is probably the only time I'll EVER get away with eating till I burst! YAY!
yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Journal,
uuuuuggggggggggggggghhhhhhhh..................I ate so much chocolate I'm really, truly going to burst. Today, we are driving to Dayton. We're packing our stuff up and my mom is yelling at me to stop dodling and help, and I'm thinking: NO WAY AM I PUTTING THIS THING DOWN, THIS IS FUN, AND YOU DON'T SEEM TO KNOW WHAT 'FUN' MEANS!! Okay...EEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!!!! That is the loudest I've ever heard her scream, so Bye!!!
Bye...

STILL LATER...
Dear Journal,
My ear is still ringing from my mom yelling, but all I know right now is that we're in the car, driving to Dayton (3 hours southwest for 200 miles)... and I'm bored out of my mind again. The drive from Akron to Dayton isn't nearly as long as the drive from Cleveland to Cincinnati, but I can still be bored, right? I was just bored for longer that time. Just writing, sleeping, and playing with Cocoa sounds like fun to me, and this was #1 on my list of fun, as you can see on the previous list. And just writing about writing takes up time, so I guess, since this has taken up some time, I'll do #2 on my list now: sleep.
Good Night...

Dear Journal,
Today is the last day of our Ohio Tour. I find that sad, but it's a good thing that we get to do two last things: The Carrillion Historical Park and the Miami River. We'll also drive up to Yellow Springs and see the Birthplace Of Tecumpsa!! I'm sure that they'll all be fun... I hope. We're on our way to the Miami River now, and Emily is wondering why I am so addicted to my journal. Let me answer with a I'M NOT ADDICTED, THIS IS JUST THE ONLY FUN THING I BROUGHT!! So please wait while I do that... ok, done. So now we are packing up our stuff, double-checking the room for our things, and we're going to head home soon. This is my last entry, so bye!!!
I had lots of fun on my vacation, but this is the end of it... ~Cassidy Byron
P.S. I made a map of where we went in Ohio below:
Everyplace is as close to exact as I could get, so you can zoom in to exactly where I went!!
